Abstract
762,714. Dribble feed. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. July 28, 1955 [Aug. 26, 1954], No. 24853/54. Class 78 (1). A shoot 1 (Fig. 1) for feeding powder falling down said shoot to a container, has a trap 3 in the vicinity of the outlet 2, powder being caused to flow from said trap by vibration of the shoot to form a dribble feed to supplement the powder which falls direct down the shoot. The powder may be fed to said shoot by a coarse-metering paddle 14 (Fig. 5), from hopper 13, stirrer 18 being provided within the latter. If desired, the blades of paddle 14 may be inclined at the angle of repose of the powder. The trap may be an annular pocket around the lip of the nozzle of the shoot.
