In the blending apparatus described in the parent Specification, at least one of the metering rollers 13, 13, of the gravity-feed trunks 7 is provided with metal wire, cord clothing, saw-tooth wire, or like covering such as to present to material fed between the rollers a closely spaced assembly of teeth or spikes. In the modification shown, the teeth 131 of saw-tooth wire covering on both rollers are inclined in a trailing direction with respect to the direction of rotation of the rollers.
