Abstract

762,605. Shearing. DE BERGUE MACHINE TOOLS, Ltd. April 12, 1955 [April 9, 1954], No. 10419/54. Class 83 (4). A cutting blade C<SP>1</SP> for use in a machine for shearing circular bars has an aperture consisting of two substantially semi-circular parts of different radii and merging smoothly together, the part having the smaller radius forming the cutting edge. The machine is provided with two such blades, one A<SP>1</SP> mounted in a fixed frame A and the other C<SP>1</SP> in a slide C guided in the frame A and reciprocated by an eccentric b2. The blades A<SP>1</SP>, C<SP>1</SP> are interchangeable with others of the same outer diameter but with apertures of different size. The blades are chosen so that the part having the smaller radius is the same size as the rod to be cut, and the larger radius of the other part of the aperture provides clearance for inserting the work. A cylindrical support c<SP>4</SP> is formed on or secured to the moving blade C<SP>1</SP>. The frame A and slide C are formed with apertures c of various shapes for cutting bars of non-circular section.
