928,817. Shearing. GODINS THE ROLLERS OF STEEL SECTIONS Ltd. Aug. 8, 1960 [Aug. 6, 1959], No. 26945/59. Class 83 (4). A shears for severing section-bar W or tubing comprises blades 4, 5, blade 4 being oscillated angularly about an axis A through its centre for severing the work. Arcuate wedges 8 secure the blade 4 in a carrier 3 mounted in bearings 2, 15 in a frame 1 and oscillated by hydraulic jacks 9 which are pivoted on the frame and engage bearings 11 on a ring 12 on the carrier. The stationary blade 5 is secured by wedges 6 and screws 7. The work W passes through channel-shaped slots in the blades. If the work is hollow (Figs. 3, 4, not shown), the central parts of the blades are separate and located within the work by a rod passing through them.
