Abstract

762,595. Endless belt conveyers. MINING ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. Feb. 4, 1955 [Feb. 10, 1954], No. 3953/54. Class 78 (1). A tension element 1 for a belt conveyer whose belt is supported on cross-members 2 carried between a pair of such tension elements, is provided at intervals along its length with pairs of rollers 4, the rollers of each pair being arranged on opposite sides of the element and adapted to engage separate guide tracks. As shown, the rollers 4 are mounted on spindles 7 either integral with the sides of a link 8 of the chain 1, or detachably secured between lengths of chain 1 by yoke members 10 engaging opposite sides of the webs of I-section extensions 9 of the spindles 7 and being bolted to these webs. Alternatively the roller on one side may be mounted on an integral spindle of a link the other side of which is split to form two lugs bolted to an I-section extension of the spindle of the other roller. The cross-members 2 may either be .connected to the chains between adjacent pairs of rollers by split links whose lugs are bolted to an I-section end portion of the member, or as shown may be secured between opposite pairs of rollers by a split collar 21 on each end of the member engaging an extension 20 of the inner spindle 7 and clamped in place by a set-screw 23.
