Class 75(3) The description is substantially the same as that in Specification 761,973 to which a reference is made but the claims are directed to (1) the release of a movable stop on the movement of the igniter carrier towards the igniting position which stop when released to its operational position impedes the return of the carrier after a short initial return movement in which the current is switched off, the stop when returned to normal allowing the carrier to return to its initial position by spring action; (2) the movement of the actuator for the carrier to the end position causing a sealing device for the wick to move to the open position out of the path of the igniter wire and switching on the heating current as the igniter wire reaches igniting position and the movement of the sealing device into the open position moving a stop into the return path of the carrier; (3) the igniter wire being completely enclosed and protected by the lighter casing except when in the "on" position; and (4) the 'air for combustion of the flame flowing through the slot uncovered by the actuator when in the "on" position.
