Class 28(2) In a slicing machine, the cut slices falling from the dice knife 6 are deflected on to the receiving table 14 by the upper sloping edge of a hinged L-shaped plate 16 which carries at its back a tray 20 to receive scraps of meat. The plate 16 swings into working position around a hinge 18, so that its upper edge lies closely adjacent to the knife 6. The tray 20 is removably secured to the plate 16 by integral hooks 22 on the tray fitting over lugs 24 on the plate 16.
