Abstract
761,507. Ejection seats for aircraft. MARTIN, J., and MARTIN-BAKER AIRCRAFT CO., Ltd. Sept. 3, 1954 [Sept. 4, 1953], No. 25630/54. Divided out of 761,457. Class 4. Mechanism for adjusting an aircraft ejection seat. with respect to a supporting frame comprises members 3 secured to the seat and in sliding engagement with guide members 4 secured to the main frame 2. A cross tube 5 rotatably mounted in the seat structure, carries a hand lever 6 at one end and a lever 7 intermediate its ends, the lever 7 being connected by a pivoted link 8 to a fixed pivot on the frame 2 whereby movement of the lever 6 will cause the seat to move up or down on the guide members 4. In order that the seat may be locked in a selected position, the lever 6 carries a manually operable spring loaded knob 14 connected by a rod 15 and bell-crank 19 to a locking rod which may be engaged in any one of a series of holes 11 in a plate 9 secured to the frame 2.
