Class 52(2) In an adjustable or reclining seat structure for two seats side frame members include members 1, 2 integrally connected by transverse members 6, 8 and supported on pedestals 9, seat bases 15 slide on slides 14 in guides 13 and a back rest has a bottom member 20 hinged to slides 14 by resilient hinges 21, an arm rest member 22 being pivoted at its rear end to a side member 18 of the back rest by a rubber sleeve torsion mounting and at its other end to extension 28 of member 2 by a cross pin 27. To enable the seat to be secured in a desired adjusted position a spring- loaded pin mounted in a bracket attached to one of the seat slides engages one of a series of spaced holes in an adjacent guide 13 and is operated by a cable passing through a slot in member 8 and through member 2 to a guide 34, the cable end being secured to an arm 35 pivoted at 36 to arm rest 22 and carrying a finger piece 37. Return of the seat to a sitting position is aided by a spring 38 connected between the seat slide and transverse member 8. Where only one arm rest is provided for each seat the back frame is supported on the other side by a member 39 secured to members 6, 8 (Fig. 6) and having a radius arm 40 pivoted thereto and to sidemember 18.
