Abstract

1381073 Adjustable sliding seats ETABS COMPIN 8 May 1973 [19 Feb 1973] 21890/73 Addition to 1285019 Heading A4J The adjustable chair disclosed in Specification 1285019 is modified by extending the supporting link 5, 28 beyond its pivot 4, 31 with the base and connecting the rear end of the elastic member 14 which is in the form of a rubber or coil spring to the downward extension. The supporting link 28 may be pivotally connected to a slide 32 guided on a ramp 33 fixed to the base, the slide being lockable relative to the ramp in two positions corresponding to the two end positions of the combined seat and backrest by the engagement of one arm 36 of a V-shaped lever 37 pivoted to the base with openings 39, 40 in a member fixed to the slide. Alternatively the slide may be provided with a rack engageable by a lever pivoted to the base such that the combined seat and backrest may be locked in any one of a number of positions.
