761,251. Windows for closed stoves. BRIDGES, D. E. Feb. 15, 1955 [Nov. 16, 1953], No. 31773/53. Class 126 A window for a solid fuel stove comprises an opening in the metal part of the stove structure and a sheet of transparent material arranged in the opening but slightly spaced away from the metal round at least part of its periphery. A steel mesh or gauge 24 is secured on the inner side of the stove door 20 by a frame 25 bolted to the door. Toughened glass 27 covers each window formed in the door and is held in place by clips 28 which are clamped beneath the gauze 24. The clips space the glass a small distance from the door structure, and the air admitted through this small gap serves, together with the gauze 24, to keep the glass from being obscured by soot or the like.
