Abstract

<PICT:0760584/III/1> A vapour separator comprises a vessel 2 through which liquid passes from an inlet 5 to an outlet 6, a second vessel 1 connected with the vessel 2 by openings 9, 10, and an outlet vent 7 in the top of vessel 1. Bubbles of vapour rise to the top of vessel 2 and pass through opening 10 to vent 7; liquid flowing back along vessel 1 returns to vessel 2 through opening 9. Vent 7 may lead to a header tank to the bottom of which pipe 8 is connected to provide a liquid circulation path. The separator may be used in heating plants employing a heat transfer liquid.
