Abstract

760,441. Pipe couplings. WESTMORELAND, A. G. July 22, 1955 [July 22, 1954], No. 21350/54. Class 99(1) [Also in Group XXIX] An attachment for the end of a tap includes a thimble of which the mouth 2 receives the end of the tap, not shown, and a discharge spout 6 with a domed head 7 which has a swivel connection with the opposite end of the thimble. The swivel connection is made watertight by a rubber bush 8 held in place by a metal liner 9 extending between the bush and a rubber washer 11. The washer includes a boss 12 which fits within the mouth of the liner, and a sleeve 13 which frictionally grips the end of the tap. A metal ring 14 is spun over the end of the thimble and holds the washer and liner in position.
