Abstract
770,330. Pipe joints. WESTMORELAND, A. G. Sept. 19, 1955 [Sept. 18, 1954], No. 27089/54. Class 99(1) [Also in Group XXIX] A device to be detachably connected to a liquid supply tap &c. includes a body 1 and spout 2 of rubber or other non-metallic flexible material, and the spout has a spherical head 3 forming a swivel joint with the body. A metal reinforcing sleeve 4 resists deformation of the joint and makes contact with the head 3 which may be encased in a metal sheath 11, Fig. 3. Instead of the sleeve 4 a metal annulus 10, Fig. 2, may be embedded in the body. Rubber bushes 8, 9 are pressed into the body.
