Abstract
758,105. Automatic exchange switches. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and ROSE, W. R. Feb. 24, 1955 [Dec. 3, 1953], No. 33579/53. Class 40 (4). A two-motion selector switch has an auxiliary vertical bank of contacts and an associated wiper assembly, the latter being fixed rigidly to the switch shaft so as to make contact with the vertical bank during vertical stepping motion of the switch shaft but be moved out of contact by rotary motion of the shaft. The wiper assembly comprises an arcuate member 9 clamped to webs 8 of the switch shaft 4 by means of plates 10; the wiper arm 12 is adjustably connected at one of its ends to the member 9 and at the other end carries two insulated wipers 6 to engage the contact bank 3. A bracket 17 is used to mount the contact bank 3 on the switch contact bank assembly (not shown). Contacts 16 of the bank 3 are spaced apart to register with the vertical stepping motion of the wipers 6. Each contact 16 has a solder tag 19 in an easily accessible position. The wipers 6 are shown just disengaged from the contact bank 3 at the start of clockwise rotary motion. Specification 631,631 is referred to.
