Abstract

631,910. Automatic exchange switches. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and ROSE, W. R. Aug. 22, 1947, No. 23317. [Class 40 (iv)] A two-motion selector has an auxiliary vertical bank of contacts 3 pivoted about a vertical spindle 6 fastened to the switch framework 7 or to the main contact bank.. Under pressure from a coil spring 8, a projection 9 engages a depression 10 in the switch framework 7 and holds the auxiliary bank assembly in place. The auxiliary bank assembly carries a vertical shaft 12 on which an assembly 11 of two wipers 14, one on each side of the contact bank 3, slides freely but is prevented from rotating by engagement of the wipers 14 with the contacts 3. A semi-circular camplate 18 is fixed to one half 20 of a two-piece collar clamped about the main shaft 15 of the switch, and engages with and rotates freely in an adjustable notch between two plates 16, 17 attached to the wiper assembly 11 which thus moves up or down with the main shaft 15.
