Abstract

638,384. Automatic exchange switches. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and ROSE, W. R. Sept. 2, 1948, No. 25721/47. [Class 40 (iv)] In a two-motion selector as described in Specification 631,631, the portion of the wiper shaft assembly which has both vertical and rotary motion carries a disc-shaped cam 1, Fig. 1, which engages one or more studs 2 fitted at the level or levels required in a slotted plate 4 and operates a spring-set 10 through levers 4, 5, 8 pivoted at 6, 9. The studs 2 are retained in the slotted plate 4 by a pin 7 sprung into position in holes at each end of the plate 4. More than one such plate and spring-set may be operated by the cam 1. The portion of the wiper shaft assembly which takes part in only rotary motion carries a cam 12, Fig. 2, having two rises 13, 16 which operate the rotary offnormal springs 15 and eleventh step springs 18 respectively through pivoted plates 11, 17 respectively.
