Abstract

757,816. Dynamo-electric machines. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. March 25, 1955 [April 2, 1954], No. 9800/54. Class 35. The contact area between the brush and the commutator or slip-ring is lubricated by chlorofluorocarbon oil which is introduced into the said contact area. The oil is preferably stored within the brush body, but it may be contained in a reservoir communicating with the brush which is porous or provided with ducts. Alternatively, the oil reservoir may be provided in the body of the collector itself having a peripheral contact surface of porous metal. Specification 757,815 is referred to.
