Abstract

832,904. Brushes for dynamo-electric machines. MORGAN CRUCIBLE CO. Ltd. May 25, 1956 [May 27, 1955 (2)], Nos. 15415/55 and 15416/55. Class 35. In brushes having two sections 10, 11, a loose dove-tail interlock is provided so that the lower section may be withdrawn by the pigtail 30 simultaneously with the cap section. The brush may be split into two separate or bonded part-brushes 11, 12 with separate cap elements 21, 22, as shown in Fig. 2. A single cap element may bridge two brush-parts and may be connected to the brush-parts by oblique surfaces which may be coated with metal, preferably copper. The mechanical interlock may be, for a split brush, in the form of steps X, Y, as shown in Fig. 7. The dove-tail interlock may be of T-section. Specification 832,903 is referred to.
