756,149. Pistons. KALPAS, R. A. March 15. 1954 [Dec. 16, 1952], No. 31807/52. Class 122(1) [Also in Groups XIII and XXVIII] A compressor piston subjected on one side to a source of pulsating hydraulic pressure through a connection 92 and on the other to the pressure of the gas to be compressed comprises a rod 90 having one member 93 secured thereto and a further member 93 slidable thereon the two members 93 being spaced by a resilient mem. ber 94 which is forced into contact with the cylinder by the two pressures. The lower member 93 has rings 95 of teflon or nylon, the member 94 metal rings 96 separated from the members 93 by wire spirals 97 and the upper member 93 has a scraper -ring 98.. The piston is urged upwardly by a spring 91 and when in the upper position additional sealing is provided by a member 101 including a sealing ring 100 and a sealing surface 102 which is contacted by a sealing ring 103 secured to the upper member 93 by a clamping ring 104 which includes a rod sealing ring: 105.
