755,914. Gill boxes; indicating arrangements. SOC. ANON. INTEREMIN. Nov. 17, 1954 [Nov. 21, 1953; Aug. 10, 1954], No. 33230/54. Classes 120 (1), 120 (2) and 120 (3). A gill box has an upper roller that is covered with resilient material, weighted and positively driven and a lower roller which is fluted and adjustable parallel to the direction of movement of the fallers. The upper roller 3 is driven by a chain 3b and is pressed against the fluted lower roller 4 which is carried in ballbearings in slidable supports 5 that can be clamped in position by handled members 7. A pointer 5a and scale 2d are employed to facilitate adjustment. If desired, end portions of the lower roller 4 may be formed with sharp teeth that bite into the resilient cover of the roller 3 to prevent slip between the rollers.
