Abstract

1502491 Fibre feeds H HERGETH [trading as HERGETH KG MASCHINENFABRIK UND APPARATEBAU] 26 March 1975 [17 April 1974] 12590/75 Heading D1N A feeding device for carding machines, crimping machines &c. includes an intake roller 2 and opener roller 3 with a feed trough between them formed by a trough plate 9a and a downstream fibre support member 14 which together provide a support surface that forms a slot with the opener roller surface, which slot continuously tapers to a fibre break-off point at which the support surface is parallel to the tangent to the opener surface. The support surface may be continuously curved, Fig. 3 (not shown) or have a plane portion Fig. 2 (not shown).
