Abstract
A puncture-sealing composition for use in a gas-retaining chamber such as a self-sealing pneumatic tyre (see Group XXXIV) comprises natural, reclaimed or synthetic rubber and polybutene, the latter being in an amount from 10 to 40 per cent by weight of the rubber. The synthetic rubber may comprise a butadienestyrene copolymer or Butyl rubber. In an example the composition comprises 100 parts of natural rubber, 20 parts polybutene of molecular weight 400 to 1500, preferably 1000, carbon black and vulcanizing ingredients.
