Class 110(2) [Also in Group XX] A continuously acting liquid-sealed rotary vane suction pump 6, Fig. 1, located in a compartment 2 of a housing 1 and driven by a clockwork or electric motor 9 in a compartment 3 comprises vanes 21 such that when rotated clockwise about a central axis they become submerged below the liquid level 19 in overlapping succession causing air drawn through a filter paper 16 (see Group XX) to flow in the direction of the arrows B, Fig. 2, to an axial outlet 8 having an elbow 20 just above the level 19. The vanes make almost two revolutions per hour. During transport valves 22, 23 one closed to prevent spillage of liquid from the compartment 2.
