In a boat constructed from a plurality of abutting sections 10, 11, 12 which, when dismantled, can be stacked or nested for storage or transport, and which are capable of rapid dismantling or assembly, the abutting ends of the sections being cut-away to form flanges 13, 18 on the sections, there being between adjacent flanges a packing member, and bolts 15 for clamping the abutting flanges together so as to compress the packing to provide a watertight joint between the sections, seats 20 recessed at 21 to fit at each side of the flanges 13, 18 nest on the upper surfaces of members 22 screwed to the flanges.
