In an armoured cable, one or more thin flexible non-ferrous metal tapes are disposed between the sheathing and armouring. A single tape made of copper, aluminium or aluminium alloy may be wound over the sheath in a helix having almost contiguous turns. A second tape consisting of a relatively hard metal may be disposed between the flexible tape and armouring and may be wound on so as to cover the spaces between the turns of the underlying layer.
