Abstract
754,589. Fluidized bed furnaces REYMERSHOLMS GAMLA INDUSTRI AKTIEBOLAG. June 1, 1954 [June 4, 1953], No. 16198/54. Classes 51(1) and 51(2). A fluidised bed furnace 2 intended particularly for ore-roasting or similar processes but applicable also to the combustion of fuel comprises a central cylindrical shaft 1 and an outer annular shaft 20, the shaft 20 being provided with charging and discharging pipes 9, 10 respectively and with a perforated chargesupport 4 through which combustion air delivered by fans 11, 12 through valve-controlled pipes 22 is supplied, the shaft 1 and furnace 2 being connected at their upper ends by tangentially-arranged openings 3. The shaft 1 acts as a cyclone separator for particles entrained in the combustion gases and is provided with a gas outlet 8, the solid particles being removed at the bottom of the shaft. Cooling elements 7 are provided in the lower parts of the walls of the shafts 1, 20.
