754,492. Hose couplings. MOULDED PRODUCTS (AUSTRALASIA), Ltd. May 31, 1954, No. 16100/54. Class 99(1). A hose end fitting 10 has a double-conical extension which is inserted in the hose, the rear face of the extension having annular projections or like inwardly-facing shoulders 12 which bite into the hose when a nut 13, having a bore of like conicity to the rear face and mounted with clearance on the fitting, is screwed on to the hose. Nuts 15 on the fitting are adapted to clamp the wall of a casing between them. To join two hose lengths the fitting has a doubleconical insert at each end ; also, the free end of the fitting may have means for attachment to a tap. The nut 13 may be made of synthetic plastic.
