Abstract

1,094,477. Making elbow bends. TUNGUM CO. Ltd. July 29, 1964 [Aug. 1, 1963], No. 30532/63. Heading B3A. [Also in Division F2] A pipe bend or elbow comprises an integral length of bent tube one end of which is formed for connection of a flexible hose or the like and the other end of which is of nipple-like form to provide a joint face. The one end carries a series of grooves or serrations 2 and the other end is upset or " cold-headed " to provide a shoulder 3 to receive a gland nut 6 and a joint face 5 which is then machined and polished. Preferably the nipple end is formed before the tube is bent into its elbow shape.
