754,196. Fuel-consumption indicators. SOC. D'APPAREILS DE CONTROLE ET D'EQUIPEMENT DES MOTEURS S.A.C.E.M. Nov. 23, 1954 [Nov. 25, 1953], No. 33936/54. Class 106 (3). A fuel consumption indicator comprises a pointer 1 moved in accordance with the variations in rate of fluid flow by a lever 11 pivoted to a link 10 secured to a diaphragm 9 subjected to the pressure of the fuel and co-operating scales 25 calibrated for different speeds to indicate' with the pointer 1 in terms of miles per gallon and arranged so that only the part of the scale is exposed appropriate to the instantaneous speed by means controlled from the speedometer. As shown, the scales are arranged on a drum pivoted at 36 and rotated by an eddy-current speedometer 33, 35, the apparatus being provided with a window whereat only the relevant scale is exposed. A drum 28 may be provided carrying ordinary speed indications. The pointer is moved against a return spring 12 which is attached to a flexible band 32 wound on an appropriately shaped cam 31 secured to the pointer axis 2.
