Abstract

720,901. Indicators for rotary furnaces. SKANSKA CEMENTAKTIEBOLAGET. April 9, 1953, No. 9610/53. Class 51 (2). [Also in Group XIX] Apparatus recording the deformation of rotary furnaces comprises a rigid bridge member 6 held at points 7, 7 against the furnace drum by a steel wire or chain 4 with a tensioning device 5, a spring-pressed feeler member 8, movement transmitting means in the form of bell cranks 10 and 15, a spring operated swingable arm 17 with pen 18 pivoted to one end of the bell crank 15, and a recording drum 19 supported at one side by a lug 6<SP>1</SP> projecting from the bridge 6. The points 7, 7 on the furnace casing lie in a plane which is substantially perpendicular to the axis of the furnace. An adjusting screw 12 with lock nut 13 is threaded through one arm of the crank 10 and pressed by spring 14 against the feeler member 8. The recording drum shaft 21 carries a weighted arm 22 which is connected to the drum and will always tend to hang vertically downwards.
