753,198. Wrenches. AKTIEBOLAGET B. A. HJORTH & CO. Nov. 5, 1954 [Nov. 14, 1953], No. 32138/54. Class 61. In a pipe wrench, in which the shank 5 carrying the movable jaw 4 is adjustable by means of a nut 6 and is fitted in a guide 3 formed in the handle 2 carrying the fixed jaw 1 so as to be capable of limited rocking movement against the action of spring means, the guide 3 is formed with one or more holding members 12 (Fig. 1) or 18 (Fig. 9) to which one or more springs 10; 11 are attached or suspended and so arranged that they engage the lateral walls 15, 16 of a groove 8 or 9 (Fig. 3) provided in one or both sides of the movable shank 5. As shown in Fig. 8 the guide for the shank 5 consists of a U-shaped part, the arms 17 of which are provided with ribs 18 which extend into the grooves of the shank 5 (Fig. 11). The ribs 18 serve to hold the springs 10, 11 and also act as stops to limit the rocking movement of the shank 5. Each spring 10, 11 is positioned in a central. groove in the rib 18 so that when the' shank 5 rocks, the rib is free to engage directly with the side walls of the groove.:
