Abstract

753,108. Windscreen cleaners. FIAT SOC. PER AZIONI. Sept. 6, 1954 [Oct. 20, 1953], No. 25805/54. Addition to 690,918. Class 138(1) Relates to an improvement in or modification of the windscreen wiper claimed in the parent Specification in which the flexible metal strip 7, Fig. 7, incorporated by the rubber squeegee 1, Fig. 3, is curved as at 7a in a longitudinal direction so as to curve the blade 1, 7, Fig. 1, at its central portion oppositely to the curvature of the windscreen. As shown in Fig. 3, the squeegee is moulded so as to be initially curved with a radius of curvature equal to or less than the radius of curvature of the windscreen. The curvature of the portion 7a of the strip 7, is opposite to the curvature of the squeegee and when the strip is inserted in a longitudinal channel of the squeegee, the assembled blade adopts the shape shown in Fig. 1. The hooks 4, 5 for connecting the blade to the beam carried by the wiper arm, are received between pairs of projections 2, 3, Fig. 3, moulded with the squeegee. The strip 7 is retained in the squeegee by its bent ends 8, 9.
