Abstract

1386560 Windscreen wipers SOC ANON POUR L'EQUIPEMENT ELECTRIQUE DES VEHICULES SEV MARCHAL 16 April 1973 [17 April 1972] 18198/73 Heading A4F A windscreen wiper assembly comprises a wiper arm 1 Fig. 2 (not shown), having a hook or other female part engaging a flattened pivot pin 3 in a recess in a central body 3a of an arcuately curved moulded holder 2 for a wiper blade, clips 4, 4a on the body, 3a and end portions 5, 5a of the holder 2, being provided with claws 4b, 4c and 5b, 5c engaging the wiper blade (not shown). The holder 2 is so moulded that certain tangents to medial lines of thickness of the parts 4, 5 and 4a, 5a are convergent towards the centre of the holder. The clips 4, 4a are integral with the body 3c. Alternatively claw carrying members 40b, 40c, Fig. 11 (not shown), or 51a, 51b Fig. 14 (not shown), are rigidly secured by lugs (44) or pivotally connected to the body 3a. The end portions of the holder 2 may have additional claws 28, 28a Fig. 4, (not shown), and may be of triangular or rhombic cross-section. In another embodiment the claws are replaced by members 10a, 10b, Fig. 7, curved to engage a cylindrical plastics member 11, Fig. 6 holding the wiper blade 13. The arms of the harness member have longitudinal slots 22 with rounded sides to reduce the lifting effect of the wind.
