Abstract

752,923. Colour photography. ILFORD, Ltd. Jan. 31, 1955 [March 19, 1954], No. 8157/54. Class 98 (2). The tendency of colour photographs made by the silver-dye-bleach process to develop highlight stain on exposure to light and air is reduced or eliminated by bathing in dilute formaldehyde as a final processing step, preferably without subsequent rinsing. Aqueous solutions of 20 c.c. formalin per litre and the same containing also a mixture of disodium and monosodium phosphates as buffer salts 'are exemplified for the purpose. Specifications 397,159 and 397,188 are referred to.
