Abstract

776,634. Photographic silver transferreversal process. INTERNATIONAL POLAROID CORPORATION. Nov. 3, 1955 [Nov. 4, 1954], No. 31448/55. Class 98(2) An exposed silver halide stratum and a silver receptive stratum in superposed relation are subjected to a solution comprising a developer and a silver halide solvent to form negative and positive prints in the strata respectively, the silver of the positive print having a higher covering power than that of the negative, and the solution. is dried while maintaining the strata in permanentaly superposed relation. The positive image may be viewed directly when a white opaque support is used for the receptive stratum, or may be projected in the case of a transparent support, the weak negative image producing little interference. The silver receptive stratum may be such as to provide a vigorous silver precipitating environment, as described in Specification 703,231, and some remarks referring to the thickness of the silver halide stratum and concentration of silver halide therein are presented. In the drawing Figs. 1 and 2 illustrate respectively spreading of the processing solution and the finished print using initially. separate strata, and Figs. 3, 4 the procedure using initially superimposed strata.
