827,017. Photographic processes. GUILLEMINOT BOESPFLUG & CIE S.A., R. Feb. 25, 1957 [Feb. 24, 1956], No. 6254/57. Class 98(2) The pictorial content of a photograph is reproduced by hand in actinic colour using a positive print with an inactinic background as a guide. On photographing the manually produced picture, parts of the original subject or photograph which have not been painted in are prevented by the inactinic background from being ,recorded. As shown, an original, Fig. 2, consists principally of a black circular disc A having a white band B. This is photographed on to paper having a red background and gonache is applied by hand to reproduce a picture Fig. 5, of the original modified as desired. The red background is visible through the band B but the film used to obtain 'the final print, Fig. 7, is not sensitive to red and does not therefore reproduce it. In the examples white impermeable paper is coated with a solution of rose indanthrene and chrome alum in gelatine or a baryta size containing rose indanthrene and a gelatine silver halide emulsion.
