Abstract

752,772. Photographic apparatus. VOIGTLANDER AKT.-GES. Oct. 21, 1954 [Oct. 23, 1953], No. 30377/54. Class 98 (1). A camera case, which has provision for the condenser and battery of a flash unit, has a front cover which carries on its inside the reflector and bulb holder of the flash unit and when swung down into its operative position is automatically locked there. As shown, the case has a space 2 for the ignition assembly of the flash unit, and the front cover 7 of the case carries the reflector 8 and bulb holder 9. The cover 7 is mounted on the case in brackets 5, 6 by means of pins 12, 14, secured to an insulating rod 140. The pin 12 is provided with a pushbutton 13 and a tooth 18 which latter at all times engages an aperture 19 in the cover and locks the cover and rod 140 against relative movement. In the open position, a spring 20 on pin 14 pushes the tooth 18 into an aperture 22 in bracket 5 and locks the cover. The cover is then released by pressing button 13 to disengage the tooth 18 from bracket 5. The centre contact of the bulb holder is connected by lead 27 to a stud 28 on rod 140. In the open position the stud 28 engages a strip 29 and makes contact with the ignition unit, but when the cover 7 is closed, rod 140 revolves and breaks the contact between the stud 28 and strip 29.
