Abstract
840,644. Photo-flash lamps. AGFA A. G. July 7, 1958 [July 27, 1957; Aug. 29, 1957], No. 21758/58. Class 9(2). [Also in Group XI] A photographic flash light apparatus comprises a case 1 for the battery and a unit pivoted thereon including a fanwise collapsible reflector 7, a lampholder 6 and a support 3 for both at the rear of the reflector, the unit being adapted to pivot so that the reflector moves rearwards towards the body of the case. The support 3 may be held by a catch (not shown) either in contact with a flat surface 22 of the case with the reflector 7 extended or against an inclined flat surface 24 with the reflector collapsed. In a modification, the support 3 is pivoted inside the case and when the reflector is collapsed may be covered by a guided draw shutter. The case may have an inclined internal partition separating the unit from the electrical components, access to which is provided by a hinged door. Alternatively, the front is closed by a flexible lid hinged to the bottom of the case so that it can be folded back over the rear of the case, being held in place by an eyelet on the lid engaging a holding button on the case. The rear wall may be of similar flexible construction.
