Abstract

750,319. Optical-projection apparatus. WILLIAMSON MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd. Aug. 4, 1954 [May 4, 1953], No. 12385/53. Class 97 (1). The apparatus comprises a projector hinged to one wall of a case and a screen carried by the opposite wall, the two walls being rotatively hinged, the projector being interlinked with the opposite wall to be brought to operative position when the case is opened and folded down into the case when closed. As shown, the projector, with lamphouse 14, projection lens 16 and reflector 17, is hinged at 13 to brackets 12 carried by the wall 11 hinged at 24 to the remainder of the case. A link 22 connects pivots 21 and 23 on the projector and case respectively. The projector lies against the wall 11 when the case is closed and is raised as shown when it is open. A translucent screen 31 is mounted in an aperture in the wall 19 but may be covered by a hinged reflecting screen 32. The latter, if not required, is raised to the position shown dotted and then acts as a light shield. It may carry side curtains to assist this. In another embodiment the translucent screen is hinged inside the case, the reflecting screen being carried on the inside of a cover, for the aperture in the wall 19, hinged outside the case.
