Abstract
783,660. Flashlight apparatus. VOIGTLANDER AKT.-GES. Sept. 28, 1955, No. 27637/55. Class 9(2) [Also in Group XX] A combined flashlight device and photographic camera comprises two bowl-shaped parts hinged together, an upper part constituting a reflector and a lower part incorporating means for holding the camera, the upper part covering the front of the camera when the device is closed and with the lower part forming a closed container which houses the camera and the electrical parts. A casing for housing the electrical parts (battery and condenser) may be fixed to the reflector or accommodated in a hollow space in the part housing the camera. As shown in Fig. 2, the part 1 housing the camera 3 and the reflector 2 may both be of moulded plastic and hinged together at 4, the reflector having a reflecting coating and carrying a casing 5 in which are removably mounted a battery 6 and condenser 7 and which carries a socket 8 for a flash-bulb 9. A cable 10 connects the electrical parts with the synchronizing contact of the shutter of the camera. The camera 3 is held in the part 1 by a screw 14 engaging in the tripod bushing 12, and the part 1 has an opening 15 .aligned with the eyepiece of the camera view-finder. An additional opening may be provided for operation of the film-winding knob or lever, or alternatively, the camera be connected by the screw 14 to a plate pivoted either horizontally or vertically in the part 1 so that it can be swung out of the part 1 to permit of film-winding and adjustment. Where the film-winding and shutter setting movements are effected automatically after each exposure by spring mechanism built into the camera, a member which is carried on a leaf-spring secured to the part 1 and which has a limb engaging the shutter release button is depressed to effect shutter release. The battery and condenser may be held in the free space below the camera by springs also serving as contact springs. A carrying strap may be fastened to the part 1.
