Rotary offset machines; feeding and delivering sheets.-A duplicating machine comprises a rectangular housing 10, Figs. 1 and 3, a rotary printing-couple 21, 22 journalled in the upper portion of the housing, a sheet-feed table 27 extending forwardly from the front wall of the housing and a receptacle 35 for receiving the printed sheets, the receptacle 35 being movable into and out of sheet-receiving position through an opening 40 in a side wall 15 of the housing. The machine includes a printing roller 20, Fig. 1, carrying a planographic printing plate; inking and damping mechanisms within a casing 24, an offset roller 21, an impression roller 22, and an electric motor 25 driving the rollers, the whole being contained in the housing 10 comprising a front wall 11, back wall 12, and side walls 14, 15 extending above the walls 11, 12. Sheets on the feed table 27 are fed one by one by a seated operator to gripper mechanism which feeds them between the rollers 21, 22 and then releases them, a member 30 stripping them from the rollers and allowing them to fall into the traylike receptacle 35, which is supported with its planar sheet-receiving surface 36 sloping downwards from front to back and also downwards from the wall 14 to the wall 15; through the opening 40 in the wall 15 a corner of the receptacle 35 protrudes, so that the printed sheets can be seen by the seated operator, and the receptacle can be removed. An abutment 50 engages the upper side edge 33 of the receptacle, and has a lip 55 engaging any one of a plurality of notches 52 in the edge 33, so that the receptacle can be adjusted longitudinally of the housing. The lower edges of the receptacle are provided with upturned flanges 37, 38. The wall 15 has an inwardly extending flange 42 engaging lips 45, 47 secured to the receptacle 35. The sheets are delivered into the receptacle in the direction of the arrow 31, Fig. 1, one corner of the leading edge of the sheet striking the surface 36 first. The flanges 37, 38 extend upwardly at an acute angle to the longitudinal and horizontal axes of the housing 10. Specification 499,800 is referred to.
