A vertically moving servicing platform adapted to extend between adjacent roll stocks of a printing press is equipped with wheels running on separate vertical tracks at one side of the press which run parallel for a portion of their lengths and diverge upwardly adjacent their upper ends whereby when the platform is raised beyond the point of divergence of the tracks it is swung into vertical depending position. As shown, the platform 11 is carried by a plate 34 provided with pairs of brackets 39, 43 carrying respective pairs of rollers 37, 41 running in respective U-section girders 13, 12 arranged back-to-back. Girders 13 are bent at their upper ends towards the roll stocks 7 of the printing press which are to be serviced so as to diverge from the girders 12. A pair of chains 46 pass in an endless loop from the lower brackets 43 over driven sprockets (not shown) on the output shaft of a gear-box 48, over idle sprockets 49 and back to brackets 43. The driving motor 52 is controlled by suitable relay gear (not shown) by an " up " and a " down " switch on the platform to move the latter between a limit switch at the bottom ends of the girders and a limit switch at the points of divergence of the girders, and by a pair of switches at a remote location to swing the platform between the horizontal and vertical positions by movement of the rollers 37 between the latter switch and a limit switch at the upper ends of girders 13.
