Abstract
750,981. Injection-moulding machines. DYMSZA, T., and BURDIN, M. A. Sept. 13, 1954 [June 23, 1954], No. 18471/54. Class 87(2) A valve 22 for an injection nozzle 13, of the type that is opened by relative movement of the nozzle and the mould 14, has a projecting stem S having on its exterior passageways 18 separated by guide wings 31. As shown these passageways lead into a central bore 17, but this bore may be omitted, the centre of the stem being solid. When the valve is opened (Fig. 3) an obturating valve portion 22 is lifted off its seating and plastic material passes intc the passageways (and intc bore 17) and thence intc the mould. When the nozzle and the mould separate the valve is closed by gravity and/or by the pressure in cylinder 6. Within the cylinder is disposed a loose torpedo centred by projections 28, 29. The cylinder rests on a compression spring 9 based on a stationary support 5, and is depressed against the spring when the injection plunger 12 descends.
