A bogey can be fitted to a slewing jib crane which dismantles for transport and which, when erected, is roughly balanced on the bogey so that it can be moved along a track. In the form illustrated road wheels secured to axles 17, Fig. 1, on the chassis of the crane may be replaced by bogies 22 running on a rail track 21. The bogies include plates 23, Fig. 2, formed with slots 24 into which extend the reduced ends 18 of the axles 17 to permit the crane to move over a curved track. The crane is generally similar to that described in Specification 722,703 and may be modified in accordance with Specification 750,608 both of which Specifications are referred to. The axles 17 are disposed adjacent to the centre of gravity of the crane but slightly displaced towards the mast 13, and the crane is steadied during movement along the track by securing the road wheels 15, 16 to arms at the front and rear of the chassis similar to those provided on the jib in Specification 750,607 which is also referred to. The crane is supported on jacks 19 during use. According to the Provisional Specification only, the crane may be roughly balanced about the axles 17 both when erected and when dismantled, or separate axles for the rail bogeys and the road wheels may be provided near the centres of gravity of the crane in these two conditions.
