Abstract
749,309. Pole fittings. GRAHAM & CO., Ltd., A. April 21, 1954 [Feb. 12, 1953 ; May 13, 1953], Nos. 3976/53 and 13404/53. Class 20(1). Means for securing a lantern 2 to one side of a pole 1 and for securing a housing 3 for auxiliary apparatus to the other side of the pole 1 comprise saddle members 4 which partially embrace the pole 1 on opposite sides and clamping means, e.g. bolts or studs 5, which secure the members 4 to the pole 1, the members 4 being secured to the lantern 2 and housing 3. The bolts 5 pass through the end of the lantern 2 and through the protruding extremities of the members 4, which are arranged as two vertically spaced pairs at the same height on the pole 1, the bolts 5 being secured by nuts 8. A member 10 secured to the housing 3 is bolted at 12 to vertical bars 9 inter-connecting the ends of two members 4 on one side of the pole 1. Tubular distance pieces 7 and a tube 11 for wiring are provided. In an alternative construction, the members 4 are metal castings integral with the lantern 2 and housing 3 and are clamped to the pole 1 by bolts passing through the bases of the castings.
