Abstract

749,065. Hydraulic couplings. SOC. PER AZIONI CAMBI INDRAULICI BADALINI. April 13, 1953 [Aug. 6, 1952], No. 9935/53. Class 69 (2). In a concentric-pump-and-motor hydraulic coupling each being of the swash-plate type, the pump cylinder body 2 is rotated by a driving shaft 1 and the pistons engage a fixed inclination swash-plate 6 connected to the motor cylinder body 10 which is secured to a driven shaft 9 and a valve plate 7 on which the body 2 seats. The pistons of the motor engage a swash-plate 14, the inclination of which is varied by means of a piston 16. The pump cylinders communicate with ducts 26, 27 in the valve plate 7 and the motor cylinders with ducts 33, 34. The communication between the ducts is controlled by an eccentrically mounted valve 19 on a shaft 17 secured to the outer housing 15. A by-pass valve 22 seating on the valve 19 and controlled by a shaft 24 may be provided. A pump P collects leakage and returns it to the circuit through valves 35, 36 and maintains the circuit under pressure.
