Abstract

748,658. Tool handles. BAKER, J. July 12, 1954 [July 22, 1953], No. 20376/53. Class 61 In a tool handle 10 provided with a bore to receive the tapered tang 19 of a tool which is forcibly rotated into a screwcutting die-nut 13 fixed at the entrant end of the bore 14 and in which a tang receiving bush 15 is slidable in the bore, the bush being yieldingly retractable against a spring 16, the diameter of the bore 14 is substantially the same as the threaded diameter of the die-nut 13 to allow the bush and spring to be entered through the nut. The bush 15 is retained in the bore by a transverse pin 17 inserted at one side of the .axis of the handle substantially tangential-wise to the circumferential wall of the bore. The handle is moulded about the die-nut. Specification 636,557 is referred to.
