Class 122(1) [Also in Group V] Relates to electrode-making presses in which raw material is compacted in a cylinder 1 by a reciprocating plunger 5 having secured to its end a press disc 6, prior to extrusion through a nozzle 2a. According to the invention air-escape grooves 7 are provided on the periphery of the press disc, these grooves connecting the space in front of the disc with the. space behind it. As shown, the grooves are inclined relatively to the pressing direction.
