The shoot 1 is rapidly vibrated. by a rod 10 pivoted at 13 to the base of the shoot and caused to reciprocate axially by teeth 7 on a rotating wheel 6. The teeth 7 bear on the outer tip of the rod 10, which is pressed continuously against the teeth by a spring 11 acting on a nut 12 adjustable along the rod. The base of the shoot 1 is fitted with angle bars 4 slidable in guides and the upper part is pivoted.
